Auxiliary battery malfunction

Even if the auxiliary battery may have failed you may notice that your car starts and runs fine. You can typically drive the car if you stuck away from home. We don’t advice that you continue to drive the car with a failed auxiliary battery.


It is a concern if the main battery fails. Like every other electronic module or part it has life-time and eventually it will wear out and fail at some point.

Is it safe to drive with auxiliary battery malfunction ? The smaller battery is the auxiliary battery and it must be failing. Part of the point in the dual battery system is to keep you safely operating when one fails, so you may not notice anything besides the warning, but you should get the battery replaced to prevent any other problems. I have the same problem this morning. It say auxiliary battery malfunction in the dashboard.


So u may want to be sure if there is a boot battery. If your car only battery , it powers everything including starter, just like jap car.

Aux battery is a small battery under side dashboard. The complaint was for a auxiliary battery malfunction warning light. I called the service department and I am still under warranty but I cannot bring in the car until a week from now.

He knew right away what the problem was, ordered me a new battery , and put it in today. The most common mode links the two batteries together, taking the load off the main systems battery and charging both batteries. They'll have a loaner for me on 26th and for that visit they're going to change the timing cover gasket (big job, been weeping a couple years), weatherstripping for sunroof (tightened it last fall for wind noise, developed creaking noise from tightening, and then when real cold the wind noise returned), both batteries, and the star on. Batteries fully covered.
