Saso certificate requirements

This document certifies that the item has been successfully tested and inspected to meet the country’s quality and safety standards. The SASO certificate acts as a passport for the goods to clear customs. The existing SASO CoC program may continue for other regulated products where SABER is not yet implemented for.


EVIOCONTROL provides 3rd party SASO certification services for products. What is a SASO certificate? Who can issue SASO certificate ?

SASO CoC issued by an authorized 3rd party provider certification body in the country of product origin. All exports to Saudi Arabia must comply. No SASO certificate , no entry. In this scheme a SASO product certificate will be issued for one year.


This certification scheme is called SLEEM. This scheme is not going to replace existing SASO CoC rather this will be ab additional requirement. Consignees in Saudi Arabia must apply for an IECEE certificate through jeem1.


Saudi Food and Drug Authority (SFDA) All consumable items require the Saudi Food and Drug Authority (SFDA) approval before the shipment is sent to Saudi Arabia.

Importers require SASO conformity certification at customs to prove product conformity and to clear the shipment from. Additionally you may be required to show you have taken corrective action and demonstrate that you will comply with the SASO requirements in the future. Motors that are completely integrated into a machine (such as a pump, fan or compressor) are exempted from the efficiency requirements and do not need to be reg-istered by the manufacturer, but may be subject to other SASO requirements as described below.


Certificate of Conformity (CoC) to clear customs in the KSA. Program Objectives The ambition of this program is to certify that goods exported to Saudi Arabia meet quality, safety, and security requirements and thus protect. A product certificate is mandatory for all items except free trade items.


The certificate is valid for one year. It is required for every single shipment and is only valid for the specific shipment. At this stage, a technical review is conducted on whether the product of the company meets the requirements of the SASO standard. If the firm has a TSE certificate and the standard of the document conforms to the relevant SASO standar physical examination is carried out directly. Labeling and marking requirements are compulsory for any products exported to Saudi Arabia.


The Saudi Arabian Standards Organization ( SASO ) is responsible for establishing labeling and other guidelines. The Ministry of Commerce and Industry implements SASO guidelines through its inspection and test laboratories at ports of entry. SASO is the only Saudi organization responsible for setting national standards for commodities and products, measurements, testing methods, meteorological symbols and terminology, commodity definitions, safety measures, and environmental testing, as well as other requirements approved by the organization’s Board of Directors. These certificates protect the businesses from fraud by making sure the products entering the market conform to the Saudi.
